INTERPRETATive STORYLINES & thematic planning

One of Walk Victoria’s Icons includes the eight-day, 105 kilometre hike along our southern coastline. Beginning at Apollo Bay and ending at the 12 Apostles this is a beautiful stretch of coast, surprisingly varied in habitat with wildlife seen daily and nights spent camping.

The Storylines

The story curation explored a distinctive quality for each day, with feature plants, wildlife and habitat along with stories about shipwrecks, ghost sightings, cutting roads, protecting habitat, wildlife funnies, remote living, building the lighthouse, Indigenous connections (through appropriate consultation) and much, much more.

We also identified contemplation places and key rest spots for the application of interpretation.

This was a huge job including multiple council liaison, contacts that were located all over the place, and days spent walking the tracks.
